What the..?

Are you a budding young director/film-maker?  Do you have a yen to put your creative stamp on a music video? Union Jackals are offering you the opportunity to submit your video treatments for the track Open Skies, and the winning treatment will see its creator at the helm directing the music video, fully supported by the Jackal production team.  You have a budget of £99, you have a video crew, do you have the ideas and skills to bring Open Skies to visual life?  E-mail your video treatment to us by 23rd August to earn your place in the director's seat.

We'll be making further tracks available for video treatments shortly, so to keep informed of news and opportunities then join the Jackal pack now.

We are Union Jackals, a London-based band, and have just completed our debut album, Universal Screenplay, due for release in October. You can listen to the album here and see why we've already received plays from the likes of Huw Stephens and Gideon Coe.

Having created the album on a shoestring budget, we are now extending this creative ethic to the visual arts by bringing it to life in a filmic capacity - yes, the whole album - and we're looking for exciting creatives to help achieve this.

The project started out with just a couple of friends, but is growing week by week and we now have what can only be described as a full-on production team, from runners to directors; camera operators to video editors; animation, sound design, post production, tea and sandwich making - all members of the team are creative and versatile, and willing to fill whatever role is required to bring the group's ideas to life.

Anyone can bring a video concept to the party and the whole team meets regularly to update each-other on how treatments are progressing, or to bash out ideas and fill the gaps in storyboards. We currently have one video in the can, one in post-production and another four in pre-production.

If you're not a budding writer/director but would still like to get involved, then E-mail us@unionjackals.com to get on board. Whether you're an animator, cameraman, actor, dancer... in fact, pretty much anyone involved or interested in making films, TV, music videos, animated films or any visual arts, chances are your skills will come in handy in some way, shape or form.
